We support new Indie authors. Therefore, we accept books with no ratings or reviews
Our mission is to provide affordable award contests, recognition and promotion to Indie authors.
Most contest organizers require a high entry fee, and they reject books with lower rating and only a few reviews.
Most Indie authors, no matter how great their books are, can't afford effective marketing, therefore, their books are not found by readers and a lot of amazing stories remain unknown. Our volunteer judges rewarded some wonderful books in our 2017 Golden Book Award Contest, and they're enjoying and rating the books in our present 2017 Golden Quill Award Contest.
What happens to the books that are entered in the contest? After you email us your read only PDF book, the publishing assistant transfers it to the judges' folder. The judges have excess to our email and they download the books they wish to read. They rate the books on the scale of 0-10 by plot, characterization, and overall quality.
The semifinalist books will be those that will receive 6 or higher overall rating and the publishing assistant will make it sure that every book is read by at least 5 judges out of 10.
In the finalist phase the judges will read every semifinalist book and those books that receive 8 or higher rating will be the finalists. At this point the judges might read some of the books again and change their ratings.
The three winners will be those books that will receive the highest overall rating.
The PDF books will stay in the judges' folder until the winners are announced and then the folder will be deleted.
Our trusted judges do not share the books with anyone, after they finished reading and rating, they will delete the books.
The judges rate the contest books on the scale of 0-10 by answering the questions below. Readers vote for their favorite books in the voting polls for each genre.
Is the story line engaging and interesting enough to make you turn the pages? Is the protagonist's character well developed? (You can relate to it) Is the antagonist character well developed? (You love to hate it) Is the authors' writing style engaging and makes the story flow well? Is the formatting and or illustrations aesthetically pleasing? Did you find the story idea original? Is the plot well thought out and well developed? (no inconsistencies and flows well) Satisfying ending (happy ending or not, did it leave you satisfied with the conclusion of the story?)
